Q. What can I do to improve the efficiency of my system?
A. There are many ways you can actually add valuable years to the life of your system. By following these simple prevention tips, you have the opportunity to not only extend your system's life but also optimize your comfort level. Cleaning filters, replacing filters, and flushing the drain line are a first. Other preventive measures include cleaning the indoor coils with a vacuum or brush. The outdoor coil should always be kept free from grass, leaves, shrubbery and other debris. Always take time to review your owners’ manuals when purchasing a new system. Be sure that all registers and vents are not restricted by furniture, carpets, rugs, or curtains. If you have any questions, you can always trust in the pros at The Comfort Pros, LLC!
Q. How is the efficiency of an A/C system determined?
A. The efficiency of your heating and cooling system is determined by a ratio scale referred to as "SEER". "SEER" means Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. By determining the use of electricity that is required from the unit to cool your home, your "SEER" rating will determine the efficiency of your system. The minimum SEER value changed from 10 to 13 SEER on January 23, 2006. Systems vary from a minimum of 13 SEER to the high efficiency SEER rating of 21 SEER.

Q. How does my air conditioner work?
A. Your air conditioning system is actually comprised by dual units. On the outside, you have a unit which stores refrigerant. As the coolant is transferred to the indoor unit, the cool air is transported throughout the home. This process not only removes the hot air but dehumidifies the air in the process.
Q. Is it necessary to implement fans to work with the A/C system?
A. Ceiling fans are always a great idea, especially if your home is designed with vaulted ceilings. A ceiling fan will circulate the air and prevent the air from growing stagnant. However, if you are using a fan to cool the room, you may have a system that is undersized for the room’s size. At The Comfort Pros, LLC, we will custom design a system that will not only suit the needs of the homes size, but also maximize your overall comfort levels.

Q. My A/C system isn't working like it used to. What could be the problem?
A. There are many reasons why your A/C system may not be providing the maximum heating and cooling results you deserve. Some may be very simple, such as just changing a filter to increase airflow, while others may be more serious. Most importantly, when calling The Comfort Pros, LLC, you have made the first step! We are the "Pros" and will always provide you with an educated and expert opinion that you can trust. Before you call, here is a checklist you can perform yourself. If you still see no relief, then just pick the phone and dial 1-866-587-2161, and we will promptly be on our way! First, check your filters to see if they need to be cleaned or replaced. How about the thermostat? Is it set properly? If no results, then you may have an electrical problem, low refrigerant, or even a problem with the compressor. All of these demands the attention of a carefully trained technician who can properly diagnose your problem, and that is exactly what you will receive under the care of The Comfort Pros, LLC. Our expertly trained technicians will be at your service to not only repair your heating and cooling problem, but also restore your comfort!
Q. Is it better to let a unit wear completely out or to replace the entire system at once?
A. Because of the fact that new products are equipped with higher efficiency standards, it is usually more cost effective to replace the complete system at once. This will not only provide maximum efficiency, but also allow your new system to wear evenly.

Q. What causes a condensate water problem?
A. A condensation leak begins at the evaporator coil and is housed inside the home, usually in a closet or attic. Commonly, a drain pan is beneath the coil and designed to collect the water. However, if the drain becomes clogged, then the water has no place to go but inside the home. Contact The Comfort Pros, LLC at 1-866-587-2161 to help you fix this problem.
Q. What causes drains to become blocked or clogged?
A. There could be many reasons for a blocked drain. Some include:
- algae buildup- (this is actually the number one reason, due to poor maintenance)
- crimped drain lines
- wood platform settling, resulting in unlevel drain lines
- snakes or other animals
- poor system maintenance
Should you begin to see water leaking, contact the "Pros" at The Comfort Pros, LLC.
