Bonham TX is located in Fannin County in the northeastern part of Texas. The city is situated about 100 miles northeast of Dallas and about 60 miles south of the Oklahoma border. Bonham TX has a population of over 10,000 people and is known as the "Gateway to Texas" because it served as a major stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail route in the 1850s. The city is also home to two major lakes, Lake Bonham and Lake Crockett, which offer residents and visitors plenty of opportunities for fishing, swimming, and boating.

In addition to its beautiful lakes, Bonham TX is also home to the Sam Rayburn House Museum, which is dedicated to the life and career of former Speaker of the House Sam Rayburn. The museum is located in the house where Rayburn was born and raised, and it features a variety of exhibits on his life and legacy. Bonham TX is also home to the Fannin County Courthouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places dedicated to the county's Confederate dead.
